Globurile de Aur au fost în sfârșit decernate, după o lungă perioadă de incertitudine cauzată de grevele WGA și SAG-AFTRA. Anul 2023 a fost unul foarte puternic atât în cinematografie, cât și în televiziune, și se pare că a existat o competiție intensă în fiecare categorie, de la Cel mai bun film dramatic până la Cel mai bun cântec original.
Oppenheimer a ieșit cel mai victorios la ceremonie, luând acasă cinci premii și devansând cel mai apropiat concurent, Barbie, care a câștigat două (alături de Poor Things, The Holdovers și Anatomy of a Fall).
Pe partea de televiziune, Succession a luat acasă un număr impresionant de patru trofee pentru ultimul său sezon, urmat de The Bear și de istoricul Beef, cu câte trei trofee fiecare.
