Oppenheimer a fost marele câștigător al ediției din acest an a Premiilor Academiei Britanice de Film EE, unde a obținut șapte premii din 13 nominalizări.
Așa cum era de așteptat, în urma victoriilor lui Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan și Cillian Murphy au câștigat primele lor premii BAFTA pentru regie și, respectiv, pentru actor principal, în timp ce Oppenheimer a încheiat seara câștigând și premiul pentru cel mai bun film.
Printre cele cinci victorii ale filmului „Poor Things” se numără a doua victorie BAFTA pentru Emma Stone la categoria actriță principală, după cea obținută pentru La La Land în 2017, dar a pierdut premiul pentru cel mai bun film britanic în favoarea filmului „The Zone of Interest”, care a câștigat trei BAFTA-uri în această seară.
Saltburn (cinci nominalizări), Barbie (cinci nominalizări), Maestro (șapte nominalizări), Killers of the Flower Moon (nouă nominalizări) și All of Us Strangers (șase nominalizări) s-au numărat printre filmele care au plecat acasă cu mâinile goale.
Ceremonia din acest an a fost prezentată de David Tennant și a avut-o pe Sophie Ellis-Bextor cântând „Murder on the Dancefloor” și pe Hannah Waddingham interpretând „Time After Time” pentru segmentul In Memoriam.
